Roofing Profiles
IBR
IBR
Inverted Box Rib (IBR) is a trapezoidal, angular profiled sheet known for its structural strength and clean, modern appearance, making it both practical and visually appealing. Since its introduction to the South African market in the late 1950s, IBR has become widely used in commercial and industrial construction.
The distinctive trapezoidal rib design makes it suitable for both roofing and wall cladding applications. Its deep and wide flutes provide effective water drainage, enhancing performance in various conditions. IBR sheeting typically features five ribs, each with a height of 37 mm.
Corrugated
Corrugated
Corrugated iron, originally produced as galvanized sheeting, first emerged in England around 1830. It was manufactured by hot-dip galvanizing pre-cut steel sheets that had been formed using drum rolling. In South Africa, the Transvaal Iron and Steel Company in Kempton Park became the first to acquire a rolling mill in 1905.
Proven over many decades, this smooth, curved profile— commonly referred to as an S-rib—has been widely used across a broad range of construction applications. Even today, nearly two centuries after its development, it remains a popular choice for residential roofing.
Prolok 700
Prolok 700
ProLok 700 is a concealed-fix metal roofing system developed for commercial and industrial applications, particularly suited to low-pitch roofs. The profile features three wide pans, each incorporating two stiffening ribs, along with four main profile ribs, and has an overall profile
height of 41 mm.
The outer ribs are designed differently: one functions as the female rib, while the other serves as the male rib. The female rib matches the shape of the two central ribs, whereas the male rib is slightly reduced in size to allow it to fit securely into the female rib, creating a locking mechanism. Each rib is also formed with shoulders on both sides, allowing anchor clips to fasten firmly in place.
Ultralok 700
Ultralok 700
UltraLok 700 is a concealed-fix metal roofing system intended for commercial and industrial applications, particularly on low-pitch roofs. The profile is made up of three broad pans, each incorporating two stiffening ribs, along with four primary profile ribs, and has an overall profile height of 31 mm.
The outer ribs are not identical in design. One is referred to as the female rib, while the other is the male rib. The female rib matches the shape of the two central ribs, whereas the male rib is slightly narrower, allowing it to slot into and lock securely within the female rib. Additionally, each rib includes shoulders on both sides to allow anchor clips to grip firmly in place.
Widespan
Widespan
Widespan is a pierce-fixed metal roofing system developed for commercial and industrial applications, particularly suited to medium roof pitches. The profile features a trapezoidal box rib design with four pans, each incorporating a stiffening rib. Widespan sheeting includes five ribs, each with a height of 28.5 mm, providing both strength and durability.
